An old woman's strange
conflict with her son│Best Moral Story
In this blog post I have narrated an interesting story of Faith-enhancing
incident of incident of Hazrat Abu Huraira (R.A) and his mother. His mother was very firmly
based on her mother's religion. He tried his best to make my son leave Islam,
but could not succeed.
But the prayer of the Prophet of Islam (PBUH) changed the world of his heart. This event is very interesting, instructive and faith-inspiring.

Hazrat Abu
Huraira (RA) is a famous companion of the Prophet of Islam. By God's grace, he
himself in the beginning was a staunch Muslim, but his mother was very firmly
based on her mother's religion. Not only firm her, but she tried her best to
make her son Abu Huraira also leave the foot of Muhammad Rasulullah (SAW).
Once Hazrat Abu
Huraira (RA)’s mother was so stubborn about this that she stopped eating and
drinking and said:
“Son,
in this way I will die by suicide and disgrace your name.”
On this
occasion, Hazrat Abu Huraira tries hard to get his mother to eat, but she is
not even ready to open her mouth. Now she started sitting in the hot sun
instead of the shade. Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him)
insists. He forcefully put the liquid in her mouth, but in vain. He lifts her
and brings her to the shade, but then she sits in the sun.
Now his
condition has become that she is near death due to old age, weakness, hunger
and thirst. Her only demand is that my son! Leave Islam.
Finally, when Hazrat
Abu Huraira (RA) saw that she was not ready to accept it in any way, he said
with all his might:
“Mother,
Listen to my announcement too. If you are ripe for Shirk, then I am ripe for
Tawheed. You are a mother, if thousands of mothers like you have to be
sacrificed for the love of Muhammad Arabi (PBUH), I am ready.”
Hazrat Abu
Huraira Radiyallahu Anhu said this and came out with heavy feet. This is the thought
in the heart that now my old mother will die. Let me not see her die.
Then the idea
came to him that why not to be present at the service of the Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allah be upon him) and request for dua. So he immediately attended
the service of the Prophet and narrated the whole incident in detail.
The Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) immediately raised his hands to pray
and said:
God Almighty!
Translation: “O
Allah! Give instructions to the mother of Abu Huraira.”
Right now, The
Prophet (PBUH) was praying that Hazrat Abu Huraira walked towards his house in
a joyful manner.
People asked:
“O
Abu Huraira, Why are you leaving so early?”
Hazrat Abu
Huraira (RA) replied:
“I
want to see if I reach home first or if the prayer of the Prophet reaches.”
So when he
reached the door of the house, he realized that the prayer of the Prophet
(peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had already arrived. He noticed that
the door was locked from the inside. He knocked at the door and there was a
sound of water falling from the door.
Hazrat Abu
Huraira (RA) realized that the mother was taking a bath. After taking bath she
opened the door and said:
“I
thought to purify my body before reciting the Kalima. Then with great
enthusiasm and devotion she said:
“I
testify that there is no god but Allah and testify that Muhammad is a slave and
a messenger of Him.”
Hazrat Abu
Huraira was so happy that it cannot be described. Then he asked the mother:
“Mother,
how did the desire to accept Islam arise in your heart?
She said:
“Son,
when you went out, after a while, a ray of light dawned in my heart that the
religion presented by Muhammad (peace be upon him) is really true. It should be
accepted and done immediately. So I got up and arranged for water to purify my
being, so that I could bathe and enter the religion of Islam.”

Note: In the books of Hadith Sharif, another similar
incident is also mentioned about the mother of Hazrat Saad bin Abi Waqas (R.A).
He also went on hunger strike in the same way. But he surrendered to the blunt
answer of Hazrat Saad (may Allah be pleased with him) and embraced Islam.
